'The truth is hidden in our eyes' is a university book project I worked on with a photography student during my second year of university.

The aim of the project was to highlight the fact that depression is not always easy to identify in people.

The book followed 8 people through their daily lives from their home environments to places they relaxed in, showing any medication they were on. The story of each person worked through these section finishing up with a picture of there face.

Each persons' sections were combined and mixed with the other peoples lives mixed in the book, with prompts of which page to turn to next. The idea was to create confusion with turning to different pages in the book to represent the hecticity of life and how it is not easy to keep a constant eye on a person to identify depression.

Each person's story in the book was tracked by different size and colours of pills to give an indication of which persons story you were following.

The book ended with a statement about depression and how it is not an easy task to identify. The statement continued by saying that; there are two people in the book suffering with depression and it is up to the reader to identify these two individuals. The clues for identifying these individuals were subtly hidden in two of the pictures.
